Teaching kids that money is earned — not just given — is one of the most powerful lessons you can start early. This free printable chore chart makes that lesson fun, visual, and rewarding every single week.
Your child writes their name, checks off each chore as they complete it, fills in how much they earned, and earns a star from you in the last column. At the bottom, they add up their total earnings for the week, a simple and satisfying introduction to the idea that hard work pays off.
Perfect for ages 3 to 8. Younger children can focus on checking off chores with your help, while older children can practice writing dollar amounts and adding up their weekly total.
How to use this activity:
- Print the sheet at home on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.
- Sit down with your child at the start of the week and agree on how much each chore is worth.
- Each time a chore is completed, your child checks the box, and you fill in the amount earned together.
- Add a star sticker or draw a star in the last column as a reward.
- At the end of the week, add up the total and celebrate their hard work!
What your child will learn:
- That money is earned through effort and responsibility
- How to connect completing a task to a real reward
- Early addition skills through tracking weekly earnings
- The pride and confidence that come from contributing to the family
