Allowance is not just pocket money. It is your child's first real lesson in managing money on their own. This free printable planner makes the Save, Spend, Share split simple, visual, and exciting for kids every single week.

Your child writes their total allowance at the top, then decides how much goes into each of the three jars — SAVE, SPEND, and SHARE. They write or draw their amount inside the coin circle on each jar, then fill in their savings goal and what they are most excited about. It turns allowance day into a meaningful money moment instead of just handing over cash.

Perfect for ages 3 to 8. Younger children can do this activity with your guidance, deciding together how to split the money. Older children can begin to make split-second decisions independently and explain their reasoning.

How to use this activity:
  1. Print the sheet at home on standard 8.5 x 11 paper, or laminate it for weekly reuse.
  2. On allowance day, sit down together and write the total amount at the bottom of the page.
  3. Talk through how much should go into each jar - SAVE, SPEND, and SHARE.
  4. Let your child write or draw their amount in each jar's coin circle.
  5. Ask: "What is your savings goal this week?" and fill in the reflection lines together.
What your child will learn:
  • That every dollar has a purpose — it does not all go to spending
  • How to make intentional decisions about dividing money
  • The habit of saving and giving is a natural part of receiving money
  • That planning ahead feels good and builds confidence
This activity sheet is a great companion for all of our financial literacy books, perfect for bringing the lessons to life at home.
